Suggested Itinerary:

Day 1: HK to Paris

Hong Kong to Fontainebleau via Paris – AF185 2305/0545

Proceed to Chek Lap Kok airport for late night flight by Air France to Paris

Day 2: Paris to Fontainebleau

Upon arrival at Paris CDG International airport, our chauffeur will pick you up with your luggage and drive you to Ibis Fontainebleau hotel about an hour away from Paris.

Check into Ibis Fontainebleau, which is quiet but less than 5 minutes away by foot from the chateau gates and all local restaurants and cafes.

There is a good news here for die-hard golfers as located just 1000 meters from your hotel lies the Fontainebleau Golf Club (a traditional golf course no buggy allowed).

In 2001, it was ranked by the Golf European magazine readers, as number 1 in France and is classed 17th in the Golf Word Top 50 Continental golf courses.

Take a leisurely ten-minute walk from hotel to Fontainebleau Golf Club, famous for its most “English” layout which makes excellent use of the undulating and heavily wooded terraine. Some of the trees that line the “tightish” fairways are hundreds of years old, and a few of the really old ones are “labelled” accordingly - all in all they create a tranquil forested setting for a relatively tough test of your golfing skills. With one or two spectacularly elevated tee-boxes, and some rock strewn fairways, you will be in for a golfing treat just a mile or two from what was once Napolean’s military HQ.

Restaurant recommendation: Croquembouche (meal at your own cost)

43 rue de france, 77300 Fontainebleau, France 01.64.22.01.57

A small restaurant on a side street a few blocks from the palace, it offers outstanding service. The food is fresh and interesting even if not quite up to Michelin star status. By any standard, Croquembouche is a good option for fine dining in town.

Day 3: Fontainebleau

After breakfast in the hotel, explore the lovely historical town of Fontainebleau, renowned for its large and scenic forest, a favorite weekend getaway for Parisians, as well as for the historical Chateau de Fontainebleau, which is one of the biggest palaces of the kings with beautiful scenery, lakes, and gardens. For the casual tourists, the town is also full of small bistros and restaurants of a unique character serving traditional rural cuisines.

Restaurant recommendation: Bistrot 99 (meal at your own cost)

Bistrot 99 rue Montebello, 77300 Fontainebleau, France 33 1 64 22 87 84

There is an enjoyable atmosphere in this lively bistro. The menu is extensive with far more choice than the majority of the Fontainebleau restaurants. Order a Sole and a Pork dish, both of which are well cooked and tasty, followed by a creme brulee and a cheesecake. Savour some wine too. Well worth a visit
