Every year, the end of July to early August is the harvesting season for the coveted white peaches ( 水蜜桃 ) which ripen after a dry July, preceded by a rainy season in May and June, to offer the juiciest textures. This is the microclimate enjoyed by Okayama ( 岡山 ) that gives the area the edge of growing the best peaches in Japan .

O ur trip s to Okayama will be marked with visits to the local orchards where the region's famous Shimizu White Peaches ( 清水白桃 ) and muscat grapes are grown and distributed.

Okayama white peaches are only a part of our gourmet tour, which will pamper your palates with sashimi and oysters served at an izakaya sakana ( 居酒屋 ) restaurant; the finest wagyu beef from Sanda county ( 三田和牛 ) of the Kobe prefecture in a specialty restaurant; the freshest seafood in gourmet eateries and kaiseki in traditional ryokan , a multi-course Japanese dinner analogous to Western haute cuisine .

Golfing will be arranged at first-rate courses, where you can enjoy the game amid natural landscape scenery. Other sights will also be yours to enjoy as we travel to the world-famous UNESCO site Himeji Castle ( 姬路城 ) and the Korakuen Garden ( 後樂園 ) in the suburbs. Enjoy the change of scenery from fascinating urban sights to tranquil rustic landscapes.

For three nights, we will be staying in hotels in the city. For the remaining two evenings, onsen accommodation will be arranged. A unique experience awaits as we will be staying in a onsen ryokan, Hakkei Hotel Yubara ( 湯原溫泉八景旅館 ) , a traditional Japanese inn with onsen bath that brims with hot spring water that calms your body and mind.

There will also be an opportunity for us to enjoy a resort-style onsen experience at Arima Grand Hotel , a fusion of Japanese and Western cultures, with a more contemporary pool, marked by atmospheric lightings and decorations. From one of these baths located on the rooftop, you will be able to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view atop a hill, over the entire town. Multiple pools will also be available for your selection, including one in nestled in a manicure garden.

Since we will be entering and leaving Japan through Osaka , be sure to equip yourself with a shopping list of gifts and souvenirs to bring home for your loved ones from this fabulous city of amazing sights and sounds and retail outlets!

As the characterful ryokans come with a limited number of rooms, they will require a booking commitment before they could allocate the highly sought-after rooms to us.

Day 1: HK – Osaka – Arima onsen county

Flight departs from Hong Kong in the morning by Cathay Pacific and reaches Osaka in the same afternoon - CX506 HKG/Osaka 1010/1455

Meet and greet by local tour escort who will lead our group all the way till the end of the journey

Transfer by private coach to Arima onsen county ( 有馬溫泉鄉 ) by a private coach

Located on the northern coast of Osaka Bay, Arima Onsen is one of Japan 's oldest hot spring resorts and a popular destination for those who want to slow down, unwind and totally relax. Visitors here can indulge in its many bathhouses.

Check into Arima Grand H otel, which sits on a small rise of land overlooking the hot springs town of Arima . Enjoy the magnificent scenery and the views from the bath “Unkai”,a spectacular, western- style onsen on the top floor. A smaller one on Basement Two offers the view of a tranquil bamboo bush. Another asset of this hotel is the garden and pool area, which is perfectly manicured and creates a very special atmosphere particularly in the evening.

Dine at the hotel's restaurant and enjoy a multi -course Kaiseki dinner, which features a mouth-watering array of cuisines such as Wagyu beef, chawanmushi, snow crab, sashimi, miso soup, sea bream rice, fruits and puddings.

Day 2: Arima – Okayama ( 岡山 )

Check out of hotel in the morning, then transfer to Okayama and teeing off at Kinnoji ( 鬼城 ) golf club in Okayama and lunch here at own expense.

After the game, transfer to a local hotel, located next to the canal walk and close to the famous Korakoen Gardens and Okayama castle. The lanes in the hotel's vicinity come alive at night with lots of restaurants and pubs. The rooms are well-equipped with modern amenities and exceptionally large by Japanese standards.

Day 3 : Okayama

After breakfast, enjoy a morning tee-off at Kurashiki ( 倉敷 ) golf club resort in Kurashiki and lunch there at own expense.

Visit a local peach farm, where you can taste the “just-harvested” rare white peaches. Each peach is grown on the tree protected by a small bag to ripen it to perfection. Among the peaches grown in Okayama , the Shimizu White Peach is the most famous. Juicy and sweet with a wonderful fragrance, it is the peach that attracts the highest prices. Peaches are picked between late July and early August.

Return to the hotel in the late afternoon and get ready for dinner at a handpicked restaurant.

Day 4: Okayama – Yubara Onsen ( 湯原溫泉 )

Morning we will b id farewell to this lovely onsen ryokan and continue our journey to another fruit orchard where Okayama 's muscat grapes, commonly referred to by locals as the “Queen of Fruits” are offered. Other varieties – such as New Pione , Aurora Black, Seto Giants and Shien grapes – might also be available. This means that you can savour various varieties. some have rich aroma of musk, others are easy to eat because you can just pop it in your mouth without peeling it, and some are large and filled with juice each variety has its own appealing feature. Touring the farm, we will see how the grapes are grown and harvested. We will be permitted and even encouraged to eat as much as we like, making the farm tour as delicious as it is interesting.

Subsequently head for Maniwa, a prefecture filled with mountains, lakes and the richness of nature. On this trip we'll visit the Yubara onsen, a historic hotsprings town nestled in a ravine and at the base of the base of Yubara dam. Here, there are a number of onsen hotels, together with an outdoor, mixed bathing area of rotenburo by the river. The waters reportedly have healing effects on those suffering from diabetes, chronic women's diseases, chronic skin disease, cuts and burns.

After this brief vision, begin your tee-off session at Yubara golf club in the late morning. Lunch at the golf resort clubhouse at own expense.

Check into an onsen roykan hotel, ( 湯原溫泉八景旅館 ) which offers a natural interior and a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Here, you can unwind and easily enjoy a conversation in the bath.

Day 5: Okayama - Osaka

Check out of hotel in the morning, then transfer to Himeji Castle.

Himeji Castle , which is located in Hyogo Prefecture , is one of Japan 's most spectacular and best preserved castles. Comprised of 83 buildings made of wood, it is sometimes known as Shirasagijo ( White Heron Castle ) because of its brilliant white exterior. Unlike many other Japanese castles, Himeji Castle was never destroyed in wars, earthquakes or fires and survives in its original form. It is both a national treasure and a UNESCO world heritage site . Several movies have been filmed here, including like Akira Kurosawa 's Kagemusha and Ran as well as The Last Samurai starring Tom Cruise .

Lunch will be arranged at a famous Sanda Gyu (beef from Sanda county ) Yaki (grill) restaurant serving the finest authentic wagyu beef. Featuring the highest percentage of the best marbled fats, the beef is sourced from Kobe and grilled meticulously to perfection by master chefs for tenderness and taste.
